Home schooling

mikesduster, as a teacher for over 10 years I can undserstand that you want to home school your kids. One thing I would like to point out is that your school district cannot do anything with your youngest daughter with out your permission. I am assuming she has an IEP or a 504 plan. You need to talk to the school and find a person who is skilled in special education law to go with you and act as an advocate for you and your daughter. There are many programs in the community that can assist you with this.

Now about home schooling you must remember that you now have 3 different learners at three different levels that you are responsible for educating. This is a very daunting task and I hope you take it seriously. The curriculum for 2-3 grade 6 th grade and 7th grade are no where near the same. I caution you to consider this. I do not doubt your abilities or your passion for you daughters. I just want to play a little devil's advocate and warn you of some of the pit falls and difficulties of home schooling. I understand about the bullying, I've worked special ed from grade school to the high school and see it every day. I guess what I am saying is that this is a commitment and could be very difficult you have many regulations to live up to. Once again not doubting just a friendly bit of advice from a person who has seen both ends of this.
