Radio or no radio

IN a Street car/rod/modified/resto RADIO no doubt!!!
I was going to do one of those "STOCK RADIO CONVERSIONS" where they swap out the guts and put in some groovy new electronics.... then I went to a pretty large park & shine about 65 miles north west of Detroit (about 50 miles from me.) One whole section ( pretty large) was devoted to MOPARs....it was like a playground for Carguys! One of these ever so meticulously restored to ABSOLUTE STOCK numbers matching freaks had one of those conversion jobs that had recently been finished and installed.... he used SONY speakers all the way around the 4 speaker system ( decent speakers)..... then he turned his radio on...my JAW DROPPED about a foot....I have heard better sound coming from a dying cat and he paid $650 JUST for the conversion!!! no installation, no speakers OMG!!!!
THEN & THERE I made the decision..... I like stock & all but MY car aint going to Barrette Jackson and I have no delusions that it ever will.... HENCE I went out bought a very nice SONY AM FM radio.CD/MP3/USB/AUX that has a true 80 watts per channel, I then purchased some POLK speakers 2 6x9 for the rear and 2 6" rounds for the doors...I then purchased a 6" hole saw and got out my nibbler..... the rear compartment separator I used a jig saw for the 6x9's the 6" I used the $38 hole saw and it did a wonderful job!
I used the nibbler to open the dash and installed the entire set up in about 3 hours.

Some purists will wince some will berate.... BUT I paid $250( on sale) for the whole shootin match ( saw included) the lighted radio perfectly matches my cobalt blue LED dash & interior lights and the sound is unbelievable for ONLY $250 !!!! IF you want to listen to scratchy fading in & out and signal loss from a 35 year old electronics radio...GO AHEAD!!! its your car do what you like!!!!
ME, I'll be JAMMIN to the OLDIES and it has MORE than enuf power to get above the exhaust & engine noise if a favorite tune hits my dial...Also can play homemade CD's OR LOAD up the 8 gig USB thumb drive plug it in and whoop MY fav music all day long.......

I am a weirdo!!! I like everything in my car to WORK....I do not like the idea of showing a NON working stock radio as a facade and carving up my glove-box to hide the REAL working radio!!! I use my glove box, I use my console box too, IF something on my car fails to function it is REPLACED with something that DOES function and I am not about to listen to some fading scratchy crap after spending the man hours and money I spent building my Cuda.... I want tunes and good sounding ones...I want NEWS that I can understand! I want the BALLGAME and dont want to miss something because my crappy OLD radio drifted off the station under a bridge or next to a building.....BUT THAT is ME, THAT is WHAT I LIKE....and that is what I did.....

YES RADIO.....YES YES YES!
