The O.P. might be doing what is best for the dog and not for himself.
That's a beautiful dog, i'm sure he has no other choice.
Give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
I immediately apologize if it seemed like I was jumping the OP. It was not my intention. It must be a hard thing to do. I still suggest checking with a local GSD rescue group. We have three in our area that are very reputable and commited to finding good homes for GSDs. They check out the home and the adoptive owners. They also require that you have experience with the breed.
