Just wondering what overbore sizes people have done, and the motors have lived a long and prosperous life !! I was looking at some .045 but they are on B/O !! They have a .025 and .084 oversize in stock ! I know I've done .060 over with no problem, just don't know how far over I can safely go !!

ive heard of .140 on a stock block with custom venolia pistons but who here has that change layin around right!

summit (yea i know right!) has .040/.060/.080 pistons in stock style... thats what i have in mine (.080) and they work great! no issues...

P.S. there 12 bucks each lol...

just remember to install them on the rod backwards... notch to the rear not front...

OK,I went ahead and ordered the K1 Forged Rods, and the Wiseco 3.504 (.104 over)pistons !!Waiting to hear back from 66aCuda about some headers and intake !!Maybe even find a cam while I'm at it !!Gettin excited now !!!

lucky bastard... they came out with all that stuff like a week after i first started up my new motor... i was so pissed!

Trust me, I know the feeling !!This will be my 3rd /6 build, and I'm going to go a little further with this one than I did with the others !! :angel4:

Anything .040 and bigger, I'd get a sonic block test first to see if it will take a bigger bore without coming close to a water jacket.

also can look at the bolt holes for the motor mounts to see if they are centered in the pads... if not its got some core shift

Dutra took a band saw to a 64 block and found .250 walls all around, hardly any core shift.

now the key there being no core shift... otherwise you can run into issues...

what is a good spec for minimum wall thickness?

like i said i am still mad at you... lol... i'll get over it eventually... maybe

I'll probably be sportin wood when I get my other parts from Frank !!!:bounce::bounce::bounce:

If you have your cam ground right why get 1.6 rockers? You dont REALLY need to sonic check your block. I have not seen a iron slant block yet that cant take a .104 over bore. Visual on the core shift and bore. Now if you go .140 or more then I would sonic check and hard block.
Frank

Alright, more parts ordered, Thank You Frank !! What suggestions would you have on cam grinding ??

Get your set-up picked and use outlined and then we will talk cams. I dont like ANY of the "off the shelf cams" for a dollar build.
