Offering to sell a controlled substance in a public forum ? LOL
Trade for some plutonium ?

I'm looking for some kryptonite. I'll never use these cans of R 12 for anything but figured that maybe someone out here has an old school system that needs to be recharged. Both cans are full. Just not sure if anyone out here would need em'.

Feh. Go look up R12 on eBay. It's not illegal to sell R12 on the open market under two conditions:

1. The R12 was manufactured before it came under commerce restrictions, or
2. The buyer is certified (s.609) to service motor vehicle A/C systems.

If the seller isn't sure when the R12 was made, and wants to make sure to be extra squeaky-clean legal, he can require that the buyer provide a photocopy/scan of his s.609 cert card to the seller.

Me, I still have three cars with R12 A/C systems, and I have my s.609 cert (not sure if I can find my card, though!)

It is not like I am trying to sell illegal drugs or dynamite. I got two cans of freon and was trying to help out someone who may be looking to stay cool this summer. No harm intended. Hey I will just dispose of em if no one wants em. These cans are OLD!!!!! but are full

That R12 is liquid gold. I just bought a 12 oz. can for my 89 truck. I believe I will change it out for 134a next time it needs servicing.

I sold 6 cans of the stuff 10 years ago for 418 a can. Bot them for a buck each when they first outlkawed the stuff but it was still available. Shoulda bot the whole store out and the next one too! Better than investing in gold.

Now go do as your gov said and tell on your neighbor
and wave the flag, while they dump depleted uranium
shells on our enemies.

Don't you just hate double standards.

I don't give a rats *** if it is illegal. I am trying to help out anyone who is looking for some R-12 for their A/C. Screw those environmental commies!!!

I agree!
EAT **** AND DIE COMMIES!!!
Tell em dustermaniac!!!

While we're at it I think we should outlaw this!
Think of the kids and how it will effect them!
What a waste.

I love this site!

In Colo. R12 They are 45.09 for a 12oz can. R134 was 9.27 I got the r134 and in Calif. r134 is 12.97 a can plus 10.00 core for the dam can

Donno what to tell ya, dude. If it were still legal to manufacture and sell cans of R12, I'd say you're shopping at the wrong places, but it's not, and it hasn't been for a lonnnnnnnng time.

They are sold and the price I got was not the issue. It is just that I wanted to help out someone out here who may have needed this. I didn't get rich off this at all. In fact I really am just happy I was able to give someone out here a great deal on this freon. Price doesn't matter. Plenty of great people out here so I offered it to anyone out here. And the 1st offer I got It was gone.

We still use R12 by the pallet in our freezers at work. I know that we will eventually switch over to anhydrous ammonia in the near future.

I also bought a couple of cases of the one pound cans about 25 years ago to recharge my 69 chevy. I still have one unopened case but I'm hanging on to it.

Does that make me a hoarder?

By the way, there were 99cents a pound back then.

The Stealership I worked for until 5 months ago had R-12 available in the service department for older vehicles. Gov't hasn't shut them down yet.

Thanks for helping a fellow mopar guy!
