I've decided to put my '72 Duster back together

after looking for a car for a while (and missing, by one day, a pretty sweet yellow '71 340 4-speed Duster) I've decided to put mine back together:

went to look at it at my brother's place, where it's been sitting for many years, and she's held up pretty well (other than the non-existent vinyl roof, and the paint which was obviously applied too thin, as the car is now primer grey in most of the sunny areas). Heck, the cragar's will even clean up pretty nicely with a little elbow grease :thumrigh:

So the front end, buckets, console, and go-wing will go back from the Scamp to the Duster (although my bro has a sharktooth grill that I can probably buy from him) and then it's all about drivetrain.
He also has a 416 kit that I could buy from him if I like. Then again, he's also got a turbo kit I could buy from him if I like...then yet again, he said he's got a nice solid 440 I could buy from him if I like...choices, choices...

I'll probably go Plum Crazy again (although I'll get the year-correct stripes this time, and not just do them myself based on what little info I could find back then lol). And since it's the 21st century, I probably won't airbrush the spoiler again...
As it goes together, I'm going to be needing some advice (and some parts, most likely:iconbigg:) so I'll probably post about a bit. Like, I think the tail light panel will need to be replaced (couldn't tell where the seams are for that) and I'll have to figure out why it wouldn't hold a wheel alignment way back then.

Unless I get bored and forget all about it. But I don't think that'll happen:smile:
