My New Shop!! Yiippeee!

Well I finally got my shop started that I desperately needed. I just out grew my attached garage little at a time as you can see in the picture. I did however use that garage to switch engines in my cuda and anything else that I needed to do be repaired or restored.

The new garage is 24’ x 30’. I could have gone a tad bigger I guess but I didn’t want to lose my trees and the other side has to be 10’ off of the property line. There was a lot of head scratching because I had to move the garage around to stay off the trees, 10’ off of property line and stay parallel with the house. You think it would be simple but that wasn’t the case. I framed the walls up by myself, dug the service ditch, and ran the water, electrical conduit, and data conduit myself. But I will need some help on the LVLs that go across the garage door which is 20’ wide. I was thinking of having two garage doors but I dislike having that pillar/divider in the middle. That is just something else to walk around and by this time I am tired of walking around stuff. Lol

The trusses will be ordered soon.

There will be no windows (heat loss and thieves) and I will insulate the crap out of it. I'm tired of freezing and being HOT!!

The back wall will have a work bench, tool boxes, air compressor, ref, TV, and microwave. I am going to install spool type air hoses, drop lights, and power cords.

There will be:
10 power outlets
12 4' florescent lights with T8 bulbs
3 outside lights ( 1 beside entrance door and 2 on each side garage door)
2 ceiling fans with no lights
1 flood light
1 six gallon water heater
1 microwave
1 refrigerator
1 tv

and a PTAC system this size. Not sure on name brand but it will need to be this BTU. (30 AMP breaker I am assuming)

Hopefully will add a lift sometime down the road.

I’ll keep the thread up to date as much as possible.
