If you weld these, I would use more than a simple tack weld.
You are dealing with a possible failure here that could kill you, my mom, the neighbor kid down the street, the 4 year old girl walking her new puppy...........
You don't want to be known as "the dude that killed the 4 year old with a puppy", for the rest of your life, do you?
