I found a set locally for cheap, as soon as I can get to it I will document the installation. These are going in a 64 Valiant with a 318, non power steering manual shift car.....

I bought a set from Hemi ED which were in excellent condition. However I have decided to wait until I can find the two which are the 2 1/8 inside diameter. The casting numbers are 53010186 and 530010187 for the 1 7/8 and 5306619 and 53006618 for the 2 1/8 inside diameter at the outlet. I have been unable to find the 2 1/8 ones new and am not surprised that I can't find them as they were supposedly produced one year only(1992). When I look up an application for a 92 the superseded 1 7/8 manifolds are listed as a direct replacement for the 92 2 1/8 ones. In a dyno test in another thread that was started about dakota manifolds a few weeks back, the author of the article said that the inside diameter of the manifolds he was testing was 2 inches. I have been unable to locate any info on 2 inch outlet Dakota manifolds and I suspect he was calling the 1 7/8 a 2 incher.. If you interpolate the graph the "2" inch manifolds outflowed or equalled all 340 manifolds with the exception of 1 and that was only an few horsepower difference. So... if the test was on a 1 7/8 manifold that he was calling a "2" and it equalled or outflowed 340 manifolds, then it stands to reason that the 2 1/8 manifolds outflow ALL 340 manifolds. I will still fall short 15-20 horsepower compared to even a cheap set of headers but will not have all the headaches that come with a set of headers. I say 15-20 horsepower as I have seen 4 separate dyno tests on manifolds vs headers and the range was 18-25 horsepower difference. Also the horsepower rating in 93 on Magnum motors dropped 10 horsepower from 92 which was because they went from a 2 1/8 outlet to a 1 7/8 outlet. I still plan to extensively document the installation of the 2 1/8's but it will probably be a while until I can locate a set in good condition for a good price. I want to sell the set ED sold me ( 1 7/8 ID)and I will ship them anywhere in the lower 48 for $90(price includes shipping)> I will post the ad in mechanical parts for sale.

I got tired of dealing with my headers for now and I hit the jackpot on saturday. Went to the local Pick-A-Part and low and behold a 1992 Dakota 318. Grabbed the manifolds and the flanges off of the truck, and I as well document on how to install them. Also I grabbed the bolts besides 2 studs that didn't want to come out. Ready to get the car running at least for a while, so I can get the 340 ready for my 74.

Manifolds cost me $26.50 a piece and $7 for the flanges

Geez! Some guys have all of the luck...:angry7: Oh well, I'm still happy for ya !

Did the 2.125"manifolds only come on the R/T's,what's the easiest way to identify these from the smaller ones?

Sorry had not had time lately to get to these, did score a electronic distributor from pull-a-parts that will be also going in the same car.

I have a set of the 1 7/8 ID outlet ones I got from HemiED I found a set of the 2 1/8 that I will be using. 40.00 plus shipping for the 1 7/8 ones if any one is interested. They are in exellent condition. shipping should 20-30 depending on distance from FL. If u need pics send email in a pm.
