/6 Build Question?

The cars are mine. I live too far away to build/repair cars for others, as in 50 miles from a parts house. Our school is also in a budget crisis and has been for some time so building my own cars helps from several standpoints. I have traditionally built 4x4's. I have substantially remodeled about 7 of them. I'm more of a big wooly tired 4x4 guy than car guy at this point.

Regarding the /6, my friends dad always raced them. He build a /6 colt that got 27 mpg, ran legitimate 13's off-spray, and with a tire switch and spray he ran in the 11's. It was built for low bucks back in the 80's.

Apparently he is at it again with a 64. I am up to see him in a few months. I too like the idea of daring to be different.

I'm just weighing my options for the future as far as a summer driver. I am also looking at other cars, but truthfully I have been hoarding and parting out Mopars for about 7 years and I am pretty well tooled up to build them now.

I would have to totally retool my parts and other resources to do something else. Plus it would not be Mopar! I think a mellow /6 with a 4-barrel and headers would be economical and fun to drive.

I'm looking at a 64 later this week so we shall see.

Thank you, ROB
