guess you never heard of the pinto? how about the chevy trucks that had an un protected gas tank out side the frame that would explode when hit there ford and the tire problem? and seriously was it really floor mats? the biggest story of that entire thing was a trooper that had time to call 911 instead of slapping the car into neutral. that dope should have been highly trained on how to think in those different situations.. after that the copy cats were out faking the stories.. quite a few of them were caught.
