New Member - Australia!

Hey guys,

Just a quick hello from a new member in Brisbane, Australia. Joined yesterday after I stumbled across the site while researching my new purchase:

She's a '72 Plymouth Valiant Scamp, with a 2-barrel 318. The guy who bought it in California and imported it was told it was a 340 and never bothered to check, hence the 340 sticker on the bonnet. That's coming off.

It has had a fresh paint job (just a quick blow-over, but that's ok), a new interior and a major service since it arrived in Australia a little while ago. It seems like a good, straight car and I got it $hardly anything.

I paid the seller yesterday. Today it's at an engineer's getting the seatbelts changed to Australian-approved ones for compliance, should be able to pick it up and get cruising by Thursday this week!

I've got a long, sad history with classic cars - Mostly Australian model Fords like late 70's Fairlanes and Falcons, plus some GM products like Holden Kingswoods.

Most recently I built a '77 Ford F100 pickup from the ground up with a little stroker Cleveland etc, just to bomb around in while we were renovating the house. I sold it yesterday, which I'm still a bit sad about.

Still, it rocks to be a Mopar owner!

Look forward to learning more..
