So i have been having some second thoughts about my project. To be honest it is essentially a parts car that could be made whole again. When i first saw it I felt bad for the poor little thing. But as I work on it the harder it is on me not having a drivable project. It is a 64 Signet hardtop 2 \6 - 904. Interior is dryrotten, wiring is hosed, rust on the passenger floorboards and rear quarters. other than that pretty solid. And to be honest Id much rather have a 67-68 valiant or a 70-72 duster. SO.

Would you just suck it up and build the 64 or would you part it out, make some $ and buy a running project?

All depends on wether you want to work on the car $$ or just jump in and turn a key?I like to do both LOL

For the $ you would have to spend on buying a driver it sounds like you can repair the poor little guy :thumblef: I like the Signet hardtops and the earl Sedans myself and I enjoy the simplicity of them, one step at a time and it could be a driver very soon I would think.
Getting it safe to drive can get pricey  But how much will a driver set you back ? I need to see your 64 before I can help you decide :thumblef:
I will see if I can find a thread on it :thumblef:

Some people make parting out a car sound so good and profitable. I think it probably takes a special person with understanding neighbors to be able to part out a car and recoupe or make money at it.

But in the end I think buying a running project is the smart choice. Seen way to many cars get torn apart and never put back together. Takes a big bank account and/or many years to do a decent restore on a 40 year old car now days.

I prefer running project cars so I can drive them while I work on them. The biggest problem that I have is that I drive them more than I work on them.

"And to be honest Id much rather have a 67-68 valiant or a 70-72 duster." If that's really how your feeling, then maybe see if you can sell it and get what you really want. Sounds like your trying to justify keeping a car you really don't care for a lot, and wondering whether to put both time and money into it. Restoring these cars requires lots of work and patience, as well as money. At least get a car you really want if your going to spend both time and money on it.

I feel sorry for the little cars too, but that alone isnt enough, you gotta love it IMO....if you like the later a-bodies better then you should get one. Parting a car is a LOT of work and headaches, I agree with trying to sell it whole.

I vote to sell it and get what you want.
You'll be happier in the long run.....

Personally I would never consider spending the time, effort and money on a project that I am not even sure I like. You are probably much better off to find the car you like, and move the other one. That way, when things are not going fast enough, at least you still have the desire to finish it. Otherwise, you will never get it done.

Well the inside is past rough. How is the body on it?

If you really don't want that car, sell it whole and buy what you want! To part a repairable car is Pillaging and old Mopars don't grow on trees!

OTR, the body is OK-ish. every panel needs SOME love.

Dover, Thats part of the problem... repairable vs. $ to repair. Is it worth it? and to get this car in driver shape i;d be doing the same to another 'repairable' car.

Honestly im torn. I will continue to work on it until i decide.

I agree, try to sell it whole and get the body style you really want. Drivable is even better!
