moldex 2.96 stroke crank

back in the day engines had to be under 305 ci to race. The 340 was too big so a shorter crank was used to get the ci down.

Funny how nobody sleeved those 340's and used smaller pistons to get more stroke ? rpm's ruled back then, still does. The shorter the stroke the more rpm's a engine can turn. Engines are air pumps, turn them faster they pump more air.

Wounder what those long gone racers would have thought of today's 4 inch stroke cranks, LOL
