Hi i want to replace the winshiels in a 67 Dart only to find out i require a plastic locking strips. These strips go in after the windshield is installed to push out on the rubbers and stop leaking.
Two questiond do you know where i can buy the locking strips, possibly in Canada mopar dealers dont list them any more.
The other question is the 1967 winshield diffrent fron the 68-69 windshiels. If the are the same then it is just the rubber mounting hardware and the locking strips that is diffrent for 67. Can i buy a rubber mounting hardware kit for a 68 or 69 without the mounting strips and go that route with my 67 Dart.

67 windshield gasket is different from the 68 & 69. Different trim too. Some people have used the 68/69 with the trim for the 68/69. My 67 gasket was still usable and I found some locking strips so I was able to keep it original.

The 67 windshield lockstrip was a one year deal, because it was so bad. I found a NOS set for my 67 two years ago, but in reality they are a garbage trim. May look nice, but more problems in the end like shrinkage and cracking.

I looked all over for the F Trim and could not find it. I bought the 68/69 Clips and Stainless Trim to convert it over. It will match the Stainless trim on the rest of the car instead of being Plastic.

You can buy some close enough locking strip off Ebay, but the stainless corner pieces won't work. Mine was driven for years with NO locking strip. I plan on converting to 68-69 style when it's time for paint.

Hi thanks for all the replies, the locking strip i am looking for just fits in the rubber strip and pushes out to keep the rubber tight against the body. It is plastic and gets brittle so you cant reuse it when it is old. I have all the chrome finish trim that snaps in to finish. I checked with NOS they no longer have it. I will call steel -rubber they are on the west coast USA i am as far East in Canada as you can go freight is a killer.

You are looking for the F Trim that gets finished on the corners with Stainless.

You need a roll or 4 pieces of it.

I bought the locking strip from Steele rubber and it worked fine in my old 67 windshield gasket and in the new rear window gasket that I bought from Steele for my 67 Barracuda. I bought it on line and had no problem.
