How hard to rebuild an edelbrock 1406 carb if I have the complete rebuild kit?
Is this something I should just take to my mechanic or spend the time and do it myself?

I built my first, a quadrajet, many years ago. It was a bit intimidating, but once I got into it, it was extremely easy. Read the instructions on putting back together before you tear it down. I had a 77 Lincoln and took the carb apart and soaked it for a few days. As I am putting it together, the instructions said " install this piece to the measurements you took before disassembly". I'm like, huh. Sure wish I had measured that. I would recommend everyone try building. It is interesting to do and see how everything works. Go for it! If all else fails, I'll sell you my 1406 at a great price.
