74burntorange just started a post about paint color and so did J-macs. That made me wonder how many burnt orange Mopars there are out there. I love the color and will probably paint my Dart a shade of that color. Here's a few photos to get started.

Here's one I painted. It's the color that was used on the limited edition Charger Daytonas in '07 or so. It's painted with Dupont Chromabase. At the time Dupont didn't have a mixing formula available and the only way you could get the paint was in pints! It didn't cover well, either. Best I recall we bought 16 pints of base!

Is that the same as the Sunburst Orange that Chrysler puts on everything (but only on one year of Wranglers)?

Love the color. Looked long and hard for a Wrangler with specific options I wanted in that color..Used only in 2009 on the Wrangler.

man that notch back cuda looks amazing!!! whats the paint code on that guy? i might want my 70 dart painted the same...

That notch just glows doesn't it? I wonder if it's a custom color. There is a 66 Dart vert here in town that is painted a Mitsubishi color. It is really sharp! It gets your attention from blocks away.

Hey Mopardude, That notch may be a Mitsubishi color. Here's a couple photos and a U tube link of Eclipses'. Check out the video and how the color flashes in different light. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeB3AWIDvUo&feature=related"]‪Larry Mitsubishi Eclipse GT‬‏ - YouTube[/ame]

FK5 is dark burnt orange metallic. Think there was also an FK??? 3 maybe? That was a little lighter shade of burn orange.

My car was repainted before I got it. They just blew it over the original paint. You can still see the original color here and there where they mssed like in the door jams and trunk. She is in bad need of a repaint. I don't dare rub on her, the paint will turn my rag orange!! Yikes!

She still gets a lot of looks though and I have people tell me not to repaint it all the time.

I need to get on that but she still drives so nice and I have a lot of fun with her still so I have been putting it off.

I had the 05 Daytona Ram the color was called Go Man-go for.05 daytona rams and 06 daytona chargers . God , I really miss that truck.

That is a dandy photo of you 2 and your car. I looked at your link. That 70 sure is pretty. Thanks for the link. mike

jtolbert,
What is the color code on the Jeep? It is on the driver's door. I'm not sure if the Challenger is the same color. Your Jeep may be the same as the PT Cruiser I'm posting a pic of below. Sometime I'm going to look up all the codes and compare them.
The Challenger is the Go Man-go that funwithfuel mentioned. I know the paint for the Challenger didn't cover very good but the paint for the PT Cruiser covered very well, so they may be different codes or formulas.

toolmanmike, I would say the notch is definately a custom color.

Anyway, here's a couple more pics of the Challenger in different light and one of my crashed PT Cruiser.

And, as I was saying, one of the PT Cruiser.........isn't going to load as it's too big even after I resized it. :angryfir:

"Light really plays with this stuff. The Challenger under hood shot just pops. Here's the Notchback and the Eclipse photos next to each other for comparison. They look close"

Indeed they do! Lighting does make all the difference also.

jtolbert,
What is the color code on the Jeep? It is on the driver's door.
Just checked the door and it is PV6: SUNBURST ORANGE PEARL COAT (PV6). I thought it was PV6 from memory but figured I'd better check just in case.

It's the same sunburst orange Chrysler has been putting on stuff for years. They replaced it with a more coppery-colored orange on the Wranglers in 2010, I believe.
