Well, I finally picked up and imported my Valiant! This will be getting my 468ci. W2 small block, with a Dana 60 and a Jerico DR4.

Right on, looks great. You didn't pick that up out of Kelowna in BC did you?

Funny you mention that. My parents seen a 1968 sitting on the side of the road by Kelowna. I was on holidays out there and drove past to see if it was still there. It was not there when I went by, so I started looking on Moparts and here. I found this 1967, and bought it a few days later.

I have always liked these cars, and I was pretty bummed when the one in Kelowna (Winfield) was gone.

This car came from member "topbrent" in Ogden Utah.

one of the coolest A bodys I love the front clip reminds me of the 1974 swinger when it came home with no rear window

Hm, wonder what happened to that 68. Hope it went to a good home. I found some pictures of it that I took when I saw it..

YES! That is the exact car that I wanted to grab. When I found that it wasn't there anymore, I had to have one haha. I think this '67 is a bit better. It needs front floor pans, but the rest is pretty solid.

Dusted72,

I don't really plan on painting it anytime soon. It would be great to fit everything under the hood too. I will probably paint the engine bay, and maybe the trunk, and door jams. I would like to leave it as is at first.

Dang what a clean Valiant. You don't see too many '67 cars. Anything your not using off of it? Might be interested :)

It's like the twin to yours car. I wanted to grab it as well, but didn't have any $$$ at the time.

Yeah, that 68 in Kelowna looked like an abandoned car. California plates, as well, I asked the man at the gas station if he knew where it went. He did not know, but said it was there for quite a while. Maybe you could check with the local RCMP. They may have impounded it and it could be just sitting there waiting for you!

Can't wait to see the transformation.

You and me both! Hopefully it looks similar on the outside when it hits the streets again. I have a set of Centerline Rev wheels for it that I bought for my current car (1976 Dodge Aspen). I had planned on putting a 4 speed in the Aspen and a narrowed Dana 60. So, I ordered the wheels with the BS I wanted. So, now that I have this car, they will probably go on it instead. I bought other wheels for the Aspen that fit the 8-3/4 that is currently in there.

One other though I had though was a set of cop wheels. Maybe the valiant hub caps will fit on the cop wheels??? I don't know, but I think that would look rad too. I found a place that makes the cop wheels new. I think for two 15x4's and two 15x10's the total was $600. Not bad! And they would keep the sleeper look. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a link to the engine build thread / what will it make thread. This engine will go in my Aspen until the Valiant is ready.

Thanks, honestly, if you can't see it in those pictures, it isn't there. Haha. It doesn't have an engine or transmission. The interior is shot. I guess if you wanted the diff, it won't be staying. I couldn't imagine you would want that puny little diff though.

It should be a fun project. It will have some unique things to it. I don't plan on running cal-tracs. They work great, and I have nothing against them. To be a bit different though, I plan on building a leaf link rear suspension. I guess the rest of the car will be standard issue stuff. Chromoly roll cage, mini tubbed with enough room for a 10.5 x 29.5" ET Drag out back.

I am hoping to get this car as light as I can with out it looking like a tin race car. It will have a back seat, and probably some sort of race bucket up front.

Nice score!I know all to well about building a Early post car.Mines getting a new narrowed Dana also in the next couple weeks.I have a narrowed 8 3/4 in there now,but feel it,s my weak link(twisted a strange axel lastyear)Checkout S&W Racing for your cage, got my 8 point from them and was happy with fit, minimal trimming.Good luck with the build.

We have a customer with a 65 Canadian Valiant (65 American Dart) with one of our street 500ci. I am a big fan of the early ones too.

As for the cage, I put a chromoly Art Morrison 10 point in my Aspen a few years back now. Awesome fit, and they are located closer to me so shipping isn't as bad. So I will probably be using one of their cages again.

Any ideas what cluch your going to run?

What is the gearing in the trans?

Can't wait to see the results.

Todd

Hey Todd, I am still new to the stick game. I don't have the trans yet, so I don't have any gearing yet. When I am ready to get the clutch, I will be going off the reccomendation of Tim Hyatt.

Sorry Quicktree, No head liner in the car, I too will need this info if you come across it.
