I'm not sure about Pioneer, but several folks have reported to me that they have successfully mounted other brands of 4" two-ways. Above, you will see that I mocked up a pair of 4" Volfenhag speakers on a bracket used for early A and B-bodies - and that bracket is the shortest one of the four different styles I make.
