Just thought it might be worth the discussion.
In an attempt to help people get there cars done in a tight economy I thought of what might work maybe not. Here it Goes, someone offers something up for grabs (free, except for shipping cost). The catch is they have to offer something else up that they can't use but maybe someone else can to anyone on the site.
Rules:
1) Don't post WANTED, NEEDED or TRADE in here. That's not in the spirit of the thread.
2) Once an item is claimed, post the user name of the person who claims your part. That would eliminate any doubt about parts being hoarded by any one person. Edit the original post to "Sent to whateverscreennamehere"
Just trying to think outside. If its a bad idea, kill the thread
The confussion could easily be kept to a minimum by NOT posting "I'd like that..." or "I need this...". Make it a deal where the next post (post #2) is the guy getting the part from the previous post. Then the next post would be from the guy getting part #2 and his offering of part #3......
Problem is, there would be way to much BSing going on b/t the posts and it will always be jumbled up.
Here is an Idea to keep it real easy
1. Post your offer
2. Whoever wants it PM the owner of the part
3.When the part is taken, edit the offer post with the word "TAKEN!!)
This way all you ever see is the offered parts, all questions be PM'd. This way you can look back to last week and see what was offered but not taken as well.
Keep the thread in the spirit it was started. Any comments and suggestions... send em via PM or email.
One thing that will help also, is when something is a "done deal"... delete the post
