I have a 46RE that came out of a 2000 Dakota R/T. I have it on good authority that it is MUCH easier to retro in an A-518 than the 46RE into my Demon. Anyone have one laying around their shop that would be interested trading?

I'm in Everett WA

Please PM me if you might be interested, or might know someone who would be.

Thanks!

46re is simply a renamed 518. True there are more electronics in it but it may be useable noe the less. Sorry for posting not relevant to your trade, but I do have an article saved in pdf (acrobat) which has a lot of good info regarding overdrive mopar trannies. PM me and I can email it to you if you want.

you should post a link or upload it, I would love to see it, as would others I admagine

I tried to upload it here but it's too big. I need a sight other than photobucket to upload it to. It's a pdf file and I have shared it in the past simply by emailing it.

The physical pain of installing the transmissions are the same for any of the OD Torqueflites. That being said, any "RE" variant needs a computer to run the valve body.. Great if retrofitting an OEM based EFI system, not so much if you're running a carb.

NVM, I see that you already did!

Thanks :D

Well, the CURRENT plan is to use the 5.2 magnum from my Dakota, after I swap un the 5.9 :D I am planing on using the stock fuel injection, with mods for performance, so maybe the 46RE is the way to go :dontknow: I was HOPING that SWMBO could be convinced I need another 5.9 :D
