I ran into the same problem on a truck 440 once. Were the dipstick normally would go on the driver side of the engine the truck motors have a aluminum plug pressed into them and it's almost impossible to remove. What you got to do pull the pan off and find the hole on the bottom of the block were the oil tube would normally go get a long metal punch and smack it out it should pop out.

Looks like a nice starting point. #187 pan comes up on here all the time in the forsale section. I got one with baffles, some have them some don't.

that pan that is on ebay thats the same as the 187 pan to fit in my dart or does it need some massaging

Perfect fit in my Cuda. Looks like they chopped the bottom off and added 3 or 4 inches to the depth. It holds 7 quarts. Has the upper flat baffle welded in around the sumped area. It is a nice piece for the price. Clears the center link as well as all other steering components.

I've got a clean 187 pan here in Fresno. I'll take $75. I should have a pickup, too (will have to look).

hey jim i think i got my last 187 pan from you also lol my buddy robert raymond drove to your house after a bakersfield race and picked it up for me if i remember right

That 400 might be one of those super blocks. Strongest factory Mopar block made and super rare and desirable.

Read:

I have a 1975 400 truck block and after it was bored/honed .060 over, the cylinders all sonic check at 95-100 thousands thickness. That #2 main web was huge, almost completely machined.

Could be. The one I have for sale right now has already been through my hot tank.

i got this same one on my 400 and fits perfect!! Nice pan for the price and came with the 1/2" pickup. I got the pickup free for some reason cause it was suppose to come with the 3/8". I ain't complaining!

here is a pic of mine painted and installed with the main girdle. Less than an inch is below the k-frame!

hi.. I got the same pan and 1/2 inch tube and my 440 has a 3/8 inch... What you do then ?? Did you drill and re-tap it to 1/2 ??

No, mine screwed right in! If I remember correctly the threads are larger in the block.
