73 340 Duster being restored in Maryland

-
Everybody and their brother has a green Duster. Do something original and stick with the factory color.

I think this car is close to it but a bit lighter.

Thats what I think but he trys to say "oh you like the lime green colors" and I say, ya but not on this. I think that car above is JA3 I think its called? But even though I love all the high impact colors, I still want it to be the original color even if the car is not being restored to original.

As much as I like the idea of having the silver with white because it looks great, Im now more in favor of sassy grass. My dad didn't even have to try and persuade me. Sassy grass with a white stripe and white interior is different and i love lime green so the car will probably be sassy grass since its not being restored to original and we don't even know if the block is #s matching, the serial number was ground off.

You have really have your work cut out for you(no pun intended) on this one. I think one of the many shades of Orange would look great on your car. Mine is hemi orange with some candy apple red mixed in. Original color was EV2, hemi orange. You can see the difference, the engine compartment is straight hemi orange.

Yes I like orange, my 2nd favorite color but that might have to wait for the next car we do. I would go for orange with white interior and stripes, it really pops.

Well after what will be 7 years in a month, I can happily say that this car is ready for the epoxy primer my dad bought. Now that the weathers good also, we just need to find a nice day to spray. I did all the body work except for the welding so hopefully it turns out nice and strait with no waves or dips in it. Still undecided on a color. Today is such an odd day though. Working on the car when an earthquake hit which so weird for us east coast guys and its the day before school starts here so I figured today was my last day to get a whole day to work on the car for a while and I finished it up. :)

Been to cold for us to work on the dusters apparently so I got me a new toy for a good price to get me through winter if we get another snowpocalypse. 99 Wrangler strait 6, 5 speed with a 4in lift and 33s and I couldnt be happier. Unless the 73 340 got painted of corse...

Your Jeep looks pretty nice Eddie! Now you need to put a winch on it and do some off roading.

Well we shot some primer before this MD humidity kicked in and got a little of the final color on. Dad went with viper red and I had no say in color choice but I don't care to much any more. I'm not into muscle cars as much any more. Yes we painted outside and no we didn't have respirators, please don't bash us for being stupid. The rest will be painted when the weather gets better and we have the time. Its ready for red as of now.

It looks good too me Eddie. What color stripes are you guys planning on...if any stripes at all?

Got white 340 stripes and white seats for it. I still wish it was more unique since I've seen dusters like this before but its his car and I have my own to work on now.

Nothing like having to do this over again because i took so long I got logged out automatically. :banghead:

Been a while since Ive posted any progress but a lot has happened in that time. Dad got diagnosed with cancer a little more than a year ago and its not looking to good. He started hospice a week or so ago so now im in a rush to get this car on the road so hopefully he can at least see it finished or take a ride. Main problem is I need a cast externally balanced harmonic balancer for a 340 which isnt the easiest thing to find since its a 2 year only deal from what I read. Got a buddy coming over to help me align the doors better and install the 340 decals. Also got a box full of everything i need to rebuild the front end. So if youre reading this and have a cast crank only externally balanced harmonic balancer for a 340, I need one bad!
