Shafers model car thread

Thanks for the comments guys! How about a Johan Super Bird kit. I opened up the wheel openings, and painted it with Chrysler engine blue engine paint, as Petty blue paint was not available at the time.

chrysler engine blue is the only petty color i know , i think the petty car kits are awesome and the chrysler is great. keep posting up , all model cars are allowed here. boats , planes ect,

Wow! That some pretty cool stuff! Congrats, man! I'm impressed. You're light years ahead of me when it comes to this stuff.

I have almost completed valiant dog's valiant, only lack doing something with tail lights, touch ups and paint trim on dash and final assembly- he has a slant 6 engine i will assemble next .

I was weary of painting the black in the keystone wheels but i think it turned out nice. I will say this is the first time i have worked with a resin kit, They make a great way to get that obscure car that model companys do not make, but they lack detail.

for example, there is no gas cap, the rear was made wrong and the glass does not fit, but it does make a nice example of a 66 valiant.

This car was missing a steering wheel and shifter, and tail lights , those where donated from my spare mr norms gss dart , i still do not know what to come up with for tail lights, :clock:

i am starting to drool, do you know how rare that ford truck with the kit car is, they were pulled out of production early due to petty's connection to chrysler, that is when just the kit car was packaged, i have never seen that truck in real life , thankyou for sharing

Yes, I am aware of the rarity, I knew some of you guys would enjoy seing that, plus the petty dart is scarce too, i bought quite a few over the years. There are actually two of them in that same pic! Thanks for the compliments!!!

Someone mentioned a 70 Swinger? This one was an aftermarket resin body, and was a difficult build.... 440, dana 60, and pantherpink!

This is a 1/32 scale kit of a 62' Valiant by a company named Premier. It is a crude kit. The box shows a 2 door, but the kit is a 4 door. This is one of those kits that has a separate roof, hood and cowl, trunk, and the sides are separate pieces. I got it with no windows, so I made my own. Interior is made with parts from the kit, and a driver from a slot car with a scratch built roll bar. Bumpers are from the parts box, and made to fit. It is mounted on a Carrera 1/32 scale slot car chassis.
