I have a White 1970 Dart with a black vinyl top and black bumble strip. I have been going back and forth for a few months now about the idea of painting my hood and scoops satin black. What does everyone think? Gloss white or satin black?

I like the satin black. You can do a combo of both colors and make the hood look smaller.

Love the blacked out hood....chrome trim and callouts on the scoops will pop. Had a 69 vert road runner in burnt orange with the factory flat black treatment and the orange hood bumps and 383 call outs just jump at you. Either way, it will look good!

I'm normally 50/50 on the black hoods, but I think with the black vinyl top it will look good. Go for it.

Satin black would look great! Ya know you just don't see a lot of A-bodies. in white, I think it looks cool.

entire hood i say no. but the factory treatment is good looking. the all black hood make it look like you bought a hood that didn't match so ya just painted it black. its too unfinished looking. either way (factory treatment or entire hood black) you need to go black onto the cowl for the finished look.

I went with the black hood on my 70 dart and I love it. Kinda sets it off. Think it would look great on white.

I'd leave the hood white. As far as the scoops, they look good either way to me.

ClarkDart70,

I didn't vote because my choice is not one of the two you offered.

I' agree with abodyjoe with one exception; I would use gloss black for the hood/scoops/cowl as well as a gloss black tail stripe. This is my plan (except for the tail stripe (darn body side moldings)).
