I am 6'3 370lbs.. I just got my frist mopar a 72 dart it has bench seats and no tilt wheel:sad8:. I would like to put bucket seats in.What are u big guys using thanks for your time

Welcome to FABO big guy, you might want to consider a B body, it would definitely be more roomy for ya.

No, not that I know of .you'll have to buy an aftermarket column to get tilt. Like from Flaming River or Ididit.

I've only had bench cars, but from what I understand, the factory buckets are lower right off the bat. I'm 5'5", and my sport bench duster feels tight. And my daily is a MINI Cooper. I can only imagine being 6' plus in a bench seat duster.

I'm 6' 9" and 400 lbs... I fit fine in my dart, but I drilled holes and moved my seat back...

I had a hard time getting in and out of my Dart,so I put early '70's buckets and a smaller diameter Grant Challenger style steering wheel !!I fit fine now, belly and all !!!:cheers:

We put a IDIDIT tilt column in my son in laws 73 dart. Only draw back was had to install the ignition in the dash.

Flaming River makes tilt columns for both in-dash and in-column ignition key. In fact, their website now shows a keyless ignition tilt column with the pushbutton start in the column.

You might want to check Summitt's or Jeg's website and check out their buckets seats. They have some nice one's. We installed a set in a buddy's race car and they are comfortable. Myself I have factory buckets in my 68 Dart GtS. I have purchased a smaller steering wheel also but I haven't installed it yet.

There are some nice looking aftermarket buckets available, but most have high side bolsters that keep your *** from sliding off the seat while hard cornering. They might restrict your *** from sitting comfortably and restrict how wide you can keep your knees apart. The older style Mopar buckets do not have the side bolsters and are plenty wide in the seat.

Onephat, welcome aboard! Secondly, I used to live in San Bernardino so I know a lot about your area (we have quite a few local / Riverside area members too).

I'm 5-foot nothing but my man Billy is 6'5 and about 280. Since you're looking at seat alternatives, I bought a pair of those universal Summit racing buckets that suit me perfectly but cause him to have to squeeze his shoulders together to fit in there. He hates them so much he's never driven it.

:-D :-D :-D

Yeah ........ I kinda like it that way. LOL

Make yourself at home around here and enjoy the ride.

Unbolt the seat pull it up and slide it back to get the new locations. mark and drill! Drive to KFC...

thats funny. i'm around 300lbs im ordering the summit seats. they are cheap and lightweight. i hope i fit. im only 6 ft. though.

LOL thanks for all the input you guys rock... I will shop around and see what i come up with. but for now I am ging to start with a smaller steering wheel
