360/380hp crate motor

What is your opinion on these for a street Demon compared to a 340 or a 5.7 swap? The Demon is a factory 318 car.
... :happy1:

This can be a tuff question because you can build an engine yourself cheaper.
With that said, if you never built an engine, can not build an engine due to lack of help, exper., tools or whatever the case may be, the create engine is a good deal.

The HEMI engine is a better power plant. But it can be a pain if your new to swaps, adding parts that you may have never touched before like adding, an ignition, computer, fuel pump and fuel line adpted to the OE tank and/or replacement fuel tank. Headers are expensive. But anything decent and well made for a "LA" is comparable in price. The more expensive headers for a "LA" like tti's are pricey but ohhh sooo worth it.

The create engine will drop right in with just a correct engine mount for the drivers side at most. You can use the 318 mount with some washers since it is wider than the 340/360 mount.

These 360/380 create engines were often dyno'd by the mag's with very nice results. When the MP instructions were followed, (use of a 750 carb, 1-3/4 header pipe,) these engines allways dyno'd north of 400 HP.

A few members here that have used this engine in there cars have done so in full trim stock cars to lightened race only cars with et's from mid 12's in full street cars to high 11's in lightened race cars. With the bracket cars making use of a few tricks that street guys normaly do not employ. Like roller rockers, electric fans and mini Alternators, fiber glass panels, high stall converters and rear gear ratios, etc......
