We could get 10 sets sold EZ if you change that 90 degree entry point to a 3rd Y and price them under 200, thats 2K worth of work for a local businessman. Not a bad contract.

I like your idea for changes! That would really make them a lot better!

At any rate, depending on final price put me down for a set, if not two sets!

The headers will NOT be $200. The price would be $300-$400. He said they are a very labor intensive design.

If they will work on a magnum 360 in a 1967 Barracuda with less issues than doug or tti then I still want them. I just want something that is user friendly and can be installed without having to dismantle the damn car and grind here and adjust there and move the engine over or up. We pay 7-800 for doug's or tti and we need a degree in mechanical engineering to install them.

Would they fiot a 1970 dart 340 with power steering ? If so I;d like a set as well

I'm still interested, up to $400, if it fit 63 to 65 a body.
Maybe I can take one or two sets more, if it’s needed to reach 10 sets in total.
As far as I know it would be easy to sell them here in Sweden.

I would still be up for one set in the $300 to $400 range. Would be nice if they were left bare metal so people could get them coated with out having to blast off the paint.

300-400 is out of my league. Harold found a way to do more than 30 sets for 180 shipped, how? Sell 'em in kit form? 400 is steep for this poor design without changes. Its the only drop in option for many though. Good luck.

Maybe he wasn't charging enough? And maybe that is why he was apparently such a PITA to deal with. Perhaps too busy working 2-3 other jobs just to support his headers for charity habit. I don't know the first thing about building headers and what it costs, nor have I ever done business with Harold. I imagine it is labor intensive work though.

I wonder if Commando66's contact would be willing to sell that jig and setup? Maybe we could find somebody more interested in building these? I would certainly like a set for my early-A and would consider buying several sets if it would inspire more confidence in the person building them.

Here is an idea...
That set up taken to a state with the least amount of work... we are a country in financial problems but that could work in the projects favor.
I am sure there is a qualified person that is short on work and can do it at a cheaper labor rate at least for a little bit to get it up and producing.
Need to find a person that is trustworthy and possibly a retired person.
Once the design is perfected and sales grow you could main stream it
just a thought
a lot of people are looking for work so ...Oh Dare I say it.. The new American way seems to Send the work over seas... ouch that hurts! and I am all for keeping work in America but seems other Americans are willing to bring there cost down this way but I am sure for a low production run of 20 units or so you should be able to find a person in the states who wants work/challenge
When its worked out count me in!.

Exact copies of the Spitfire style headers will most likely not happen. A redesign may be in the works. I am bringing him some samples that I have to look at. I have an explanation of my conversation with the header maker if anyone wants to send me a PM. Semi-affordable early-a headers are not dead...just a little ways off.

My header guy says 400.00 to 500.00 to make a set and I gave him the headers I got from bluefish. He has had them for about 3 months now I will check on them later this week.

Are you going to sell them for that price or is that your cost? Materials and time are quite expensive and paying for a fixture/tooling has to be factored into the total cost too. It's not cheap getting a cheap set of headers made. The only way Harold could sell them so cheap is to do a header ponzi scheme.

He probably got sick of the typical cheap *** A- body owners trying to beat him down on his already low prices.
