I assume you are referring to leaving the driveshaft in or not
I can show you a couple of 4 speeds that "aren't." from years ago.
The mainshaft literally welded itself to the input pinion and maybe some of the other gears that ride on the main. One of 'em could not even be dissasembled
No, I didn't do it. Couple of sailer buddies at Miramar. Yep. It was expensive
