beer cans in the vents- good one! The cops would never look there lol. Cool thing to show your friends. Tell them you have a magical beer dispenser for your car. Epic!
 
Dinner and a movie? Have one get the hot air from engine compartment and the other gets the normal cool air like its supposed to. Put food in one and beer in the other. Keep condoms in ashtrays in rear seat area

My '71 Dart GT has the same setup; manual air doors and on the driver's side, foot pump for the (manual) windshield washer fluid spray. Ma Mopar is a clever girl.
 
I'm actually suprised the foot pump for the washer didn't raise more questions for you.
I've actually had to fix the passenger side door in mine. I made a bracket out of aluminum and threaded two machine screws into it spaced the same as where the rivets are. Install the bracket from the inside, slide the hinge on the screws from the outside and nut 'er up. Does it look stock? Nope. Does it work? Yep.
 
Mine had 5 dead lizards in the left one, and it took oh, about 40 miles of driving to get all the debris blown out of them.

As a testament to how much air those things move, the crap got blown all the way into the back seat and shelf under the back window.
 
crossram383 that is not the ultimate device to avoid police! Two piss buckets aka windshield wiper washer bottles with one going to the wipers and one going to a hose just under the dash is the ultimate device! It will deliver a shot of sour mash on demand! Although I no longer endorse drinking and driving! I have seen it done!
 
Anyone notice what looks like a shark head coming from the trunk lid looking at the cops?? Kinda weird I noticed that, wondering if i'm the only one. LOL. I think it's the shark from Jaws. You can see the eye and it's mouth is open.

I'll have to do that- I busted the driver side one in my Duster off a couple weeks ago- I guess it didn't like 10 years or so without moving lol.

Wow!!! You must be really young. 260 a/c, is 2 vent windows open @ 60 MPH. A/C in the 60s and 70s was uncommon, for most of us. So we did with what we had. The vent doors, could blow out all sorts of junk, and keep the brew handy when thirsty.

The door is for fresh air The black round knob underneath is washer pump and the shiny thing under it is the headlight dimmer Greg
 
I used to keep my stash in the vent when I was 18. Don't forget to take it out before you turn on the defroster or you'll have your weed flying out of the defroster vents
 
If the car has a rubber mat, instead of carpet, you can expect all the stuff on the floor (sand from shoes, etc) to blow around no matter how clean you keep the ducts.

I used to leave my wallet in mine.
 
From the sounds of it, everyone has had enjoyed their first experience when finding those vents at speed. Tasty!

Good info, I'll bring my dustbuster! So the fresh air ducts are impossible to replace/find? Off course mine's broke, just one of the rivets though.

Ive heard stories of guys who put turkeys or fish from a fishing trip in their engine bay while driving home/to relatives..... by the time they're there.... its all toasty and slow baked. True story.
 
thats where i kept my body af for the cooler fall and spring days when i was younger.
 
Maybe a little too much to tell anyone, but every once in awhile I drive home from my daughter's house with an open container.
It's 1.5 miles of little backstreet 25 mile an hour speed limit.
If need be I can stand an open can up in that vent and close the door.
My windows are tinted too dark to be seen doing it also.
Normally, I open it about a quarter inch and it gives a nice cool breeze right down in the shoes.
Ahhhhh
