As for the floor shifter I am just trying to decide which one to go with, B&M, Hurst, etc. Now will there be any linkage that I'll need to go from the floor shifter to the trans or do these after market shifter just bolt down to the floor hump and drill a hole for the linkage to run through?
I am in the process of converting my dart to floorshift. I bought a complete column off of ebay for $250 with steering wheel (I recently saw the same steering wheel go for $200, so maybe I can get some of my money back!).
I installed a Hurst Promatic 2 shifter on the trans tunnel. It is a cable operated shifter, and was pretty easy to install. Just make sure you get the proper kit for your application. In addition to the shifter, you need a mounting bracket for the cable and also a boss that bolts the cable end to the transmission.
Two wires for the reverse lights and one for the PRND21 illumination. Pretty straight forward.
