what were you doing on 9/11

I had the TV on that morning, I work nights, so saw it all as it happened.

In 2000, while visiting my cousin and another friend in New York, we picked up my friend's sister from the World Trade Center where she worked. I called my friend when I saw the attack and learned that her sister took off that day as there was an election and she had voluteered at the polling place. She retired soon thereafter.

Like many of you I remember thinking this was the most violent and hateful attack in my lifetime, and that life would not be the same. I am thankful that my loved ones who already had passed do not live in the world we live in today.

I too wish I could go back to a kinder and less treacherous time.
