what were you doing on 9/11

I was on the Santa Ana Fwy. driving in to work. I'd been listening to a CD but changed to a music station part way in. They were talking about a plane hitting the first tower. I immediately thought they must have really bad weather in NYC and a small plane had hit the tower by accident - similar to how a B-25 medium bomber had hit the Empire State Building shortly after the end of WW2 (yeah, I'm a history buff). Just a couple minutes later they announced the 2nd tower had been hit as well and I immediately knew it was no accident.
I got to work and that was about all we talked about all day. No TV at work so we all kept trying to get news updates via radio or internet.
Didn't see the coverage until after work. Couldn't believe it.
Seeing the repeats of the coverage for the 10th anniversary immediately brings it all back.
I was so proud of the way Americans all immediately abandoned together and the all the patriotism that was shown. I live on a 7-house cul-de-sac and 3 of us fly Old Glory every day unless there's bad weather.
I also remember how greatful I was that Bush was in office rather than Gore. We needed a cowboy in office then. This clown that's in the White House now would probably have apologized to the world for whatever we must have done to cause others to attack us. He's gotta go next November.
