I stole this from another thread on here. I was going to try to make my own list but this list is really well layed out.

Looking for wheel/tire combos on Early A-bodies only.

Maybe this will be sticky worthy :)

Lets keep a running list of wheel and tire combo. Its an often asked question.

hey big al, those 215/65's are a taller sidewall than stock (185/75), aren't they?

i'm hoping i can cram some 225/65's in under the lip of my VC sedan. the higher final drive would be good for highway cruising, and keeping the traction under control at launch.

the biggest i could fit on my first VC sedan was 215/65's, but that was with stock rims widened to 6" on the outer face (outer offset?) with no inset (?). my plan this time is to widen in towards the chassis rail as far as i can go without spring relocation or mini-tubbing . . .

:burnout:

Didnt see 1 picture of a early A body.EARLY a bodies are 60,61.and 62s.Do you want pics of kinda early a bodies? What year pics are you looking for?Mark

From what i can tell 225/65's would fit eeasy coz next time i need tyres that's the size for me.:thumbrig:

Do you want pics of early A bodies?60- 62 or kinda early A bodies?wont bother posting pics unless you want pics of actual EARLY A bodies.Guzzi Mark

By early a-body I am talking about Pre 1967 A body Mopar.
Like this whole Early A-body section is about.

dear me, i hope i haven't offended anyone by posting my Aussie '67 VC (which is based on your '66 Valiant).

i had thought, since it is officially an Australian model that ran mid 1966 > mid 1967 and was replaced with the much larger VE model that i was in a welcoming community . . .

Wheels: 2006 Dodge Charger aluminum

Car: 65 Barracuda upgraded with 73 duster disc brakes and rear end with large (4.5) bolt pattern, otherwise nothing else has changed

Rear:

17" X 7" . with a 1/4" spacer (with 1/2 " longer studs) for 4 5/8" total offset

225/50-17 tires (stock overall height as 195/75-15)

Front:

17" X 7" with a 1/4" spacer (with 1/2 " longer studs) for 4 5/8" total offset. Had to cut out center to clear to clear rotor and covered hole with a nice chrome cap.

215/55-17 tires ( I know they're taller then the rears but they were cheap!)

Centerline satin Autodrag 3.5X15 with Michilin XYZ 165SR15's fronts and old satin 15X8 Chevy 2 Centerline Autodrags redrilled to 4 BC with custom centering rings. They are 4 7/8 backspaced so they are super close to the 8 3/4 rear spring. Im gonna need a 1/2 spacer as almost any tire sidewall bulge will hit the spring.. hoping to run a 70 series 255 wide oval tire back there for proper stance. BTW, who make a +1/2" longer 7/16 stud for the 8 3/4? part number?

Australian 1966 VC Valiant. Be nice, she is an early A-body.

New Maxxis MA1's. 185/75's on front, 215/70's on custom 6" rims on the back (sitting nice and snug around 1/4" away from the leaf spring).
