auto vs. 4spd, the age old question

Oh I don't know.

Slicing through traffic, with a glimpse of steel and a flash of light.

When the starship is on the horizon and your butt is on the line, last thing i wanna think about is what gear the trans is in.

Clutches might be cool, look cool but there was good reason 99% of all Mopar cop cars had auto trans and non posi rears. Not losing control was more important than being a tad quicker. On the street in high speed pursuit too much is happening too fast to be shifting gears yourself.

But I'm totally hardcore. Helmets I believe in more than seatbelts. In high school in the early 80's the cop I hated but respected, totaled out 9 cop cars he used to brag about. No seat belt for him but always had his helmet on. Said that help protect him even outside the car but back then cops needed strength and guts, today its the Taser, ugh

Spoken like a true automatic lover! lol Seriously though I don't even think about what gear I am in, I do drive a stick every day though.... I also feel everyone should have to learn how in a stick car because it forces you to pay more attention to the road and the car which in turn in my mind makes you a better driver.

My buddies dad who was a cop once told me " I have never unbuckled a dead person"
