Vincent Black Shadow '52

I want a Vincent, a red headed girl, and to jam with Del McCoury, one of my favorite bluegrass artists of all time!!! Geof

Me too! I can't play music though, it's just not in my talent pool. :D

WOW, I did not ever hear of a Vincent Bike till I seen one, or the engine to one on the show PICKER'S, Those sure are some cool looking engines Joe.
I always though a Triumph would be cool to own, we have a few here in town and every time I see one it brings me back to the days I enjoyed the hwy on my old 550 four K. :coffee2:

It would be cool to see you start your own Bike shop Joe
Here is my first order I would have dun by you, I can see you running your own Bike shop :blob::cheers:

Sorry no music, but this could be a cool way to keep the bills paid

I can see it know Joe's Customs :happy2:

1972 Triumph Bonneville T120V by Randy's Cycle Service & Restoration - YouTube

Thanks Mike! I've worked on Indians, an Ariel Sqaure Four, Harley's, Nortons, Triumphs, Ducati's Nortons, etc., but never got my hands on a Vincent...

I have many friends, local and not, telling me to live my dream and just do it. Start my own bike shop......

BTW, I always prefered brunettes and ended up with blondes, maybe I need to find a red headed girl. ;)

Ramcharger, this is how I see it
We ain't getting younger! Yea, sit on the porch and tell the grandkids about the vinyl siding! Black and Red Rule

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Damn striaght we're not getting any younger. I'll be 46 in Jan. If I don't make a change soon, it might just get to be too late. Great quote by RWE too!

I still have my 63 triumph Bonneville

Awesome! When was the last time you rode it?

Get you a girl that will walk beside you no matter her hair color.
That's what they make hairdye for.

Roger that 340Dart!

I for many years was the proud owner of a Velocette single 500, had friends with Vincent's, we went many long miles together. Your post brought back fond memories.

I was hoping it would for someone here. Feel free to share a story or two!

There was an article in the Hagerty magazine a few month's ago about the Black Shadow and the Black Lightning showing some cat riding the BL to a world record on the salt flats, laying flat on the bike with his feet sticking straight out behind him!! What a ride that must've been. Long reported to be the best engineered motorcycle ever made, and in such few numbers that they've never been cheap. IMO they are also the most sexy and badazz motorcycles ever produced, and one in high quality condition can easily fetch 6 digit numbers today. So much for my plan to trade all my Mopars for one!!!sigh!!

Do the bike shop Ram, with fuel prices beiong what they are, motorcycles are still a great bet, and vintage bikes are where it's at!!! Good luck with your shop, Geof

I'll have to sart it in my garage and see how it goes. I need to check the local laws, figure out a name and get a biz license (among a 50 other things I need to work out).

That was Rollie Free who rode straight out on the bike wearing only a bathing suit and goggles. He was one of the greats! I posted a pic for ya on the bottom.

I recently sold my Norton 750 Commando and I sure do miss it.

I had a chance to buy a real 810 Dunstall Norton for 850 bucks. I'm still kicking myself in the *** for not doing it.

here is a pic of local philly racer Ed La belle on his Vincent black shadow drag bike

he and it still hold a record at daytona from the 60's

Ed also gained fame as a road racer competing in such events as the isle of man riding for BMW

Isle of Man is one of the true, real race tracks. Those guys were and are the toughest of the breed.

Years ago a man by the name of Bees Went used a Vincent black shadow in hill climbs and won his share too.

Awesome! I'll have to read up on him.
