I think my gas fuel gauge is fried on my 64 Dart GT. I am looking for a replacement. It worked for a while after I had a new tank, send unit, ground strap etc put in. The needle pegged all the way after fueling it up last week and then the next day it stayed on E and will not move at all.

I've got a gauge. You might want to pull the cluster out and take a look at the circut board. Kinda sounds like something is cooked. Pm me, I also have a good cluster if you need it.

I can restore your gauge and return it combined with a solid state voltage regulator.
83.00 inckudes shipping and 2 year warranty.

If you want to get rid of the problem forever, go with what RedFish recommends.

Does anyone have a diagram hooking a solid state regulator to a fuel gauge with a built in voltage regulator? Also, I see a part source on ebay with the solid state regulator for $25.00, it looks nothing like what hooks to my cluster, it is a steel cased plug in type. I also see I believe is a part number 7885 which looks like a black resistor with 3 prongs. Any pics and part numbers showing the hook up would be appreciated. I think I can do the repair myself since I have had my cluster apart and back together 3 different times in the past. I know I have to bypass the built in fuel gauge regulator to do this. My gauge cluster has a capacitor mounted on the back of the circuit board.

I've assumed from your orginal post that your oil gauge and temp gauge are still working. That indicated the mechanical limiter is still working ( regardless where its located )which indicates the fault to be in the fuel gauge itself. Hope this helps

My car has an oil light, I have separate gauges for temp, oil pressure, and volts. The charging gauge on the dash still works, but the temperature gauge does not. I assumed that the temperature gauge in the dash was by-passed by the previous owner to wire the under-dash gauges, I am now feeling that my assumption is wrong.

How do you want to be paid, ie paypal, check etc? I have been studying the repair procedure for the regulator, and I am thinking it would be better to have a pro like yourself do the job right.

I dont have cores to work with for that year model. To ship your gauge(s)to me is the only way I can help you.
I'll send you a pm with my email and mailing address.
