Need help decideing what to do with my trim

Have you removed the upper side trim yet? It is factory at least my 71' it was and mine had studs that need to be ground down and a few holes to fill.

Mine has holes that plastic rivets hold a plastic holder piece that the trim snaps onto.The stud ones are spot welded on.
