This weekend I acquired a new toy/project. I traded my 1978 Dodge D150 J-code Bigblock 400/727/9.25 pickup for a Moparts.com members' Dart Sport
Friday Evening I drove 632.5 miles ONE WAY to Dallas Tx to pickup this
1974 Dart Sport 318/904/7.25 , Factory Triple Black.
Along the way I stopped and picked up MARTIN for some company.

Without further Adue....some pics

I still have perma-grin from all the smiles and laughter... 21 hours of non stop gettin' it. And Ill never forget out running a Ford power joke while loaded with 4500 lbs of 78 Ram. :D Yes, it does have a Hemi in it.

Its a nice car... Lots of good options.

Thanks again Cousin for the Shotgunning !! It was an awesome trip!

Hell Yea it runs! LOL It sounds great too. Prine got a hell of a Score on this one.

It has a 318 with a 73 340 top side (heads, intake, exhaust manifilds), a 340 cam and new daul exhaust with Flow Master mufflers.

Its tight and drives good too. :burnout:

Heck ya! Runs Good.
Had a small power steering leak...needed a couple of O-Rings...fixed that this morning.

Going to get it Registered and Insured tomorrow and start driving this car back and forth to work.

When I finish my 1974 Duster 360...this one will be next.
And believe it or not.....this car is my wifes car!
I bought it, and traded my truck towards it as well.....but it was for her.
She wants to get the small rusted areas repaired and a couple of small door dings fixed and repaint it with 2007 Dodge Brilliant Black Metallic like our 2007 Ram 1500...then new carpet, new front seat covers, a dash cap/pad..a CD Player and some speakers..and put a Vinyl Top back on..then she wants to have ChallengerGary make up a custom Hot Pink OEM 1974 Style Stripe..then install a dual snorkel hood scoop..and upgrade the wheels to 17"inchers.

Just wanted to share my good fortune from this weekend.

:supz:

She supports my Mopar passion. I showed her this a few months ago:
[ame="http://youtu.be/l1RO2OOingI"]302 Found[/ame]

and she was like...."I want MY OWN mopar!" She really likes the Dusters, Demons, and Dart Sports...and her favorite Mopar Color is Sassy Grass...She says it turns her on...so I know where not to park at car shows in the future!!! So I started looking for something decent, in our REGION and fix up-able and found her this dart sport.

That's a great car. It's optioned almost exactly like my '73 except paint and interior color..even the same stripe.

I found mine in Lufkin, TX....nice and dry, other than the sun scorched paint.

Good luck with it!

Been driving it, daily since Monday.
Put it on the Lift after work Tuesday, and looked it over real good.
Its in really decent condition overall.
Idler Arm balljoint is worn pretty bad..I have one coming for today after work..and the front suspension will need a rebuild in the future....but amazingly it drives nice, and straight.

It died on me yesterday by a NAPA Auto Parts store..so I coasted into the parking lot...and it would not restart. Removed the air cleaner and visually observed no fuel getting to the carb. Locked up the car and left it there. After work I put a new fuel pump and filter on it and it fired right off.

Loving this car.

Man that's cool, sounds like you got a good deal. By the way you still working at a Ford dealership? Good Luck with the Dart.

Congrats on a nice car. Great looking wife also.
