bench bleeding a master cylinder

No. I should not leak there. If it does it will make the seals in the booster go bad. Sounds like the rear seal in the MS is leaking.

Thx gang, that is what I thought, but I wanted to double check.
Can't return it, its not new m/c but an original rebuilt for my e body. I suppose I will have it sleeved then because it a 1 year only m/c.

thx everyone

Well you might pull it apart and have a look. Maybe you can hone it and clean it up, maybe the cup got damaged, etc.

is it normal for a rebuilt master to bleed (very little) out the piston where it mounts to the booster?

Don't take it apart you void the warranty..take it back. I just went through that and it was dangerous cause my brakes went out on the freeway.

If you look at the thread that says 'long story short' you will get the picture.

problem is, it is a 1 year only specific m/c that is not repopped by anyone. It is date code correct for my car. The seller was at the monster mopar weekend, and I have yet to hear from him on it. I guess I have a couple of weeks left on my C/C to dispute it. This is what he does, so I really didn't expect any issues with it. I assume it has been honed and maybe that is the issue, the bore is out of round.

I didn't realize it might be under warrantee, so yes, by all means push the seller.
