I feel guilty about something that I did tonight.

no one should feel guilty for returning property to its rightful owner
and lets face it, the truck did not belong to the neighbor, it belonged to the bank, and as the rightful and legal owner of the truck the bank has every right, moral and otherwise to take possession of it PERIOD. no ifs ands or buts.

if you made a few bucks in the process, GOOD FOR YOU! spend it in good health, share it with your family, do not however reward your neighbor for his bad decisions, and that is exactly what it is, HIS BAD DECISIONS,

HE decided to purchase a truck that HE could not afford, and if his finances changed after he got the truck HE could have done something about it, yet he chose not to, oh well his choice his problem

a friend of mine was in the exact same situation, several years after purchasing a very nice new truck he fell on financial trouble and was no longer able to afford the payments, so what did he do? did he wait until the repo man came knocking? no he went down to the dealership that he got the truck from, explained the situation to them, and they were able to put him in a nice low millage slightly older, fewer options trade in that they had for a payment that he could afford,

your neighbor on the other hand decided to do nothing and payed the consequences, now if he wants his truck back he can just march down to the repo office and pay for it when ever he feels like it no questions asked, its his choice, he made the bed and he can sleep in it,

guilt on your part=0

Your bank wont be there to lend you tools or help you with projects or call the cops when it sees someone breaking into your house. A neighbor will.

Don't ever be more loyal to a multi billion dollar business over a friend, family, coworker or neighbor. These are people that you might not know very well or might not be friends with but could come to your aid when you least expect it.

A bank isn't going to do **** for you.
