I'm restoring a 70 Swinger 340, but want to overbuild the 340 a bit. I'm going with Edelbrock heads, and an Edelbrock intake. Which intake will fit without having any hood clearance issues? It has the factory dual scoop hood. Will something tall fit with a drop base air cleaner? Performer or Air Gap? Not sure where to go.

Thanks.

So you're both saying that either one will fit under the factory hood?

i have had both on my 73 340 duster......so yes...

Put a tunnel ram on it. Screw the hood.

I've got an Air Gap on my swinger. I am running a mild drop base air cleaner and it clears the hood, barely.

The Victor 340 is slightly shortter, but you'll get more torque out of the RPM or Air Gap
