Dip Stick Tube Loose........

Guys, how do you really FIX this problem so that it isn't loose, and doesn't leak oil all over the place? :banghead:
 
Mount the correct o-ring and press down the tube properly and secure the whole thing with the bolt. Good luck
 
The tubes are an interference fit and you would have to find something to swell it from the inside. Heating it with a propane torch and a blast of high pressure air might do the trick ( cap the dipstick end temporarily ) or an expanding wire type reamer if you can find one. You could wait till you next oil change, clean the block and tube with ether and JB Quick Weld it and then drain the oil but that tube won't come back out in one piece in the future!
 
Hum... I've never had one that was loose and leaked. All I've ever installed were tight when I put them in. On my new 408 I just built I bought a trick billet one off of E-bay for about $15 and it was so tight I couldn't drive it in. Had to grind a few thousandths off and put it in the freezer overnight then I got it in. Hopefully I never have to take it back out, LOL
