This discussion has been surprisingly civil. I am going to focus on the last line of your original post. You want something wild. And this is just my opinion but do something different. Take your slant apart and redo it. Go crazy and put three webber sidedrafts on it. Or turbo charge it. Pair it up with one of the new 5 speeds you can get. Be a little bit different if you are looking for a daily driver with some flair. Or maybe try and get a hold of one of the Australian lynx manifolds and put two or three SU constant depression carbs on it. Everybody has SBC setups. Your car set it up the way you want and drive it and enjoy it. I will not criticize your choice I am just offering an opinion.

Whatever you do, don't get rid of the slant. Everybody and there mother's sister's brother's aunt's uncle's pedophilic friend has a V8. Be unique for christ's sake, and not with a small block chevy.
