New Truck - Master Shield

this is how dealers make extra money. i worked for a chrysler dealer as a reconditioner, i would talk to the guy who did this protection to new cars in the bay across from mine. we both agreed it was a rip off. the fabric protection can be bought in a spray can for a few bucks. cars are made of galvanized metal these days and will last longer than they used to. you would most likely do a more thorough job undercoating it yourself with spray cans than the guy in the back of the shop who really despises undercoating vehicles and just wants to get it done. the paint protection is also available at parts stores and is basically like a wax that will wear off in a couple months its a sealer that is used before actually waxing. the rust inhibitor is where a small nozzle is inserted into all the small factory holes in the body and just sprayed where it can reach, basically a hit and miss deal that can clog up the drain holes in doors. my opinion is most of that 450. is going for labor since its probrably around 75. an hour (i havent checked in a while.) your new truck should already have a rust through warranty from the factory also.
