ok thanks everyone, im getting and edelbrock performer intake and a 600cfm carb for now and will do more later, how much do you think it will cost a mechanic to put in the intake and carb? how much do you think it will cost to do a basic tune up on the car?? do you think i should get a tune up since i feel the car is running sluggish , the engine was just rebuilt.

If you're gonna have one of these older cars, you should learn how to do simple bolt ons yourself. It will save you money and you will learn something. The more you do to your car, the more you'll learn and want to do to it. Pretty soon you won't have to ask questions anymore, you'll know how to do it yourself. It's pretty rewarding if you'll simply grab a wrench.
