Well I would have post this sooner but I did't want to post without pictures.... So back in June-July my father and I were driving through a neighboring town when we spotted this little (sarcastically speaking lol :toothy10: ) jewel. A '71 Newport 4 door hardtop. After dreaming about the car and how we could turn it into a tow vehicle to pull our mopars & vintage ('72) camper we had to have it. We talked him down to $1,200. Theres just none of these around anymore near us. This car is completely rust free!!!!!! It also would make good company for our '70 convertible. Anyways its all original #'s matching, triple green, AC car  Basically all it needs is a brake job (has factory disks). The person we bought it from put duel exhaust on it with flowmaster 40's so it has a sinister sound :snakeman: It was side swiped by the originaly little old lady owner :angry7: ruining perfect rust free doors :( Plans for it are to redo the vinyl roof, fix the side swipe, convert it to a factory 4 barrel hp setup with 3.23 gears and make a trailer hitch for it. Anyway we hope to have it roadworthy come spring & I might even get to drive it to high school too!!!!

Man you are lucky. I've never driven a 'fuselage' car...but I'll never forget riding in them as a kid, the way they ride is like nothing else, they seem to float. Love the lines too, and it looks good in green.

Nice. My 65 Newport 4-dr is my current daily driver. You might want to post on forcbodiesonly. They don't get many posts (several codgers hang out there you have to ignore). That is a nice car lift, but I would still be scared to get under there. I jack my cars as high as possible and put a lattice of cut 4x4 posts under the frame rails before I venture underneath. At least you have a lot of room to clean up the rust underneath.

Doors shouldn't be too hard to replace. I replaced 2 so far, buying from Arizona. It looks like you might be able to repair the front door, but hard to tell in photos. I use a Harbor Freight weld-on stud puller (~$100). It works better on the thinner sheet metal of new cars, but did help pull out one Newport door enough that I could do a thin Bondo fix.

Your engine has some emission add-ons mine doesn't have that take up space, but otherwise looks similar. I get 18 mpg hwy with my 383. That is possible with good fuel and ignition controls. The C-bodies aren't as heavy as they look. Mine is ~4000 lb. Much less than a Cadillac.

I love fuse's. I think the color is called avocado green. And yes they sure do float down the road. It's an amazing experience in a convertible one. My dream one is a '70 Sport Fury 440+6 barrel. The problem is just finding one :(

I love it. Although it makes me a little nervous with you sitting under that lift with a yacht sitting above your head. LOL

I am a member there (FCBO) actually one of the founding members- c-barge

Like I said before I didn't want to post anything until I had pictures on the computer. It just took a little longer....... We have found mint doors for it for $50 apiece and my dad does body work for a living so we are set. The lift is a snap-on lift which I think is rated for 5500-6000 lbs so its all right. I was swapping the starter in that picture.

the only C bodies ive owned- a 69 chrysler imperial lebaron 2 door hardtop (1 of 2014 built) a 1970 chrysler 300 2 door hdtop bucket seat console car ,a 73 imperial 4 door , and i love those cars and i will find another one to add because ITS NEVER TOO LATE lol

Heres our '70 Newport convertible that my dad restored back in '98-'00. This car has an amazing ride quality to it plus it only has ~30,000 original miles

Gotta love those C-bodies! Are you going to put custom wheels on it? If so I'm Interested in your wheel centers for my 72. PM me thanks Pete

Haha...I think the point of a lift is to be able to work underneath something, right?

That car and C-bodies in general are awesome cars, I would have one in a heartbeat.

The People Who Care What Other People Think wouldn't buy one but you found a jewel.
