CHECK OUT this R/C model Blackbird

Wow, that's impressive.
If you've been to either Spring Fling or Fall Fling in Van Nuys (SoCal), I'm sure you've noticed the RC planes (including jets) flying close to the park. They're fun to watch and I've seen some large ones there but I don't think anything as impressive and large as that SR-71.

Very cool. But it looks like the contoller is wearing floods or Capri pants....

That's billy badass right there.

That sure opened my eyes this morning , amazing ....... That would be Mr. BIlly Badass SS. :coffee2:

You could probably buy a car for what that place cost.

I was out in Hemet, CA a whoile back and watched the jet models at the RC field. Yeah, they are that expensive. A guy lost a twin jet F-4 Phantom model - over $30K.

I used to be stationed at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Japan. They flew F-15s, SR-71s and the plane I was assigned to the KC-135. When the SR would get back in the pattern after a mission they would do a few closed pattern circuits like the F-15 boys. The SR was amazingly maneuverable. That model was pretty life like except no afterburner shock diamonds out the exhaust pipes.

My understanding is that Europe is where you see some awsome models because evidently the "law" allows for larger models "over there." I was really dismayed a few years ago to see a huge B-52 model turned to junk.

I believe it was somewhere around 20+ feet long/ and wingspan:

The guy is one heck of a "pilot". Very impressive. He does need a new pair of jeans though...
