This car is just miles from my house.Wish i had the money to make my dream of owning it reality.I'm right there with you airwolfer.

It's nice and all.....but really, what makes it any different than any other similar race car now? The original drive train is GONE. Factory rear suspension GONE. Factory interior (such as it was) GONE. I'm surprised it still has the stock front suspension under it. I'm not knockin it at all. I'd love to own it....but sayin it's a factory Hemi car anymore is sorta a stretch. The VIN might be a factory Hemi VIN.

............and no matter what you do to it, can never be a street car.

Not again. It was once.....long ago. I would never have done that to an original Hemi car. It's gone forever now.

Considering Barton slams you for close to 50k for one of his Super Stock engines....

It is to bad , but this is what happened to most of the original Hemi superstock cars from the 64-65 hemi cars through the early 70's body in white hemi cars. They were never street cars they were always from day 1 race cars. So when they were a few years old and a newer car came along these were sold off to other races that raced them and updated them as the times got faster. Bigger tires, better suspension, bigger safer cages and so on. Looking back from now I don't guess anyone would do that to a real hemi car, but it is what happen to most of them back in the day. To those people at the time they were just a race car nothing more. Very few people had the forsight to keep them in original trim.

I like the "only wimps wear bow ties", and did anyone notice, it was AT Weed Chevrolet.... bet the Chevy guys hate seeing that in the garage. Nice car, but costs to much to keep as a toy and in the hemi shoot out crowd you wouldn't even be competitive without spending mucho bucks.

5,000, miles thats is a lot of 1/4 mile runs .................. LOL

good looking car, I've never had a fastback I could drive (had a 68 that I bought for parts) but I would want a street car

Aaaggghh, I guess I have to dump my "340" Duster since it doesn't have the original drivetrain or seats. Knowing that all I have is a factory 340 VIN really kills my enthusiasm for this car.

Oh, well, I will junk it out and get a factory Prius.

i dont think any of those cars were ever street cars, i dont think they could be registered or plated.

So what do you think it would be worth had it been sealed in a bag and put on a shelf until today.... 100% original. North of 200k?

Just curious what you think.

A guy had a clone Dart at the Fall Fling show. It was made up to look like the day it was delivered. A waste of a perfectly good car cause it was a trailer queen and probably never will see a track.

I can see why they left the front marker lights off these things as my new one fell off at the track last weekend! Must be from all that abuse when the front wheels come down. LOL, the girk handed me the half of the light with the chrome and lens as she handed me the timing slip. No idea where the back half went.

Around a mil or so.

I was just about to email the link to Ed, then I saw they updated their ad stating that he wasn't the original owner. I like how they show all their "research and documentation" but failed to contact the "original owner" before posting the ad.

Hmmm looks familiar...

Yep. I saw that car cross the auction block here in Las Vegas a few weeks ago:

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=682.1&aid=424&pop=0

So, they paid 69,300 for it. It will be interesting to see what they think they can make on it.

Might be fun to go ask them how long they have been racing it...

B.

The ebay bid is up to $75K and still not hitting the reserve. Greedy bastards. I like the black Hemi fish that went for $50K a while back better anyways.

Buy a retired race car from the Pacific Northwest at an auction in Las Vegas.

Take it to the east coast, and paint your shop name on it, then try to sell it.

Did they think nobody would remember the car?
