So, my '67 Valiant has a fairly bashed-up lower radiator support and support-to-k-member brace. is there any place that manufacturers these pieces now?

I know badart has his tubular lower radiator support, and I'm considering that in addition to replacing the factory piece, but it would be nice to know of a good source for the factory replacement piece. Thanks!

I think member Crackedback(Rob)might have this support peice. You could atleast PM him and ask what he has?Good luck.

I've got one off the '67 Fish its still attached to whats left of the front end, PM me if interested, I can take some photos of it

So I managed to obtain a lower radiator core support that was removed by drilling out the spot welds. Nifty. Looking at how much metal overlap there is between the core support and the pieces it's welded to brought up a question. It's probably a simple one for experienced body people, so I figured I'd ask here.

What do you do to prep both of these pieces for being welded together? Just take it to bare metal, weld and then coat with something to stave off rust until you come back for finish work? I'm probably not going to be doing this any time soon, but I'd like to have a good idea of what the process is.

You can paint both mating surfaces with weld thru primer. A good etching primer that is weld through would be perfect. The idea is to coat the surfaces that will be sammiched together and wont be exposed to be painted once the piece is welded on.

I wondered if weld-through primer would work, but also wondered how much impurity it would introduce into the welds.
